It started with The Roswell Photography Society spring show I won an honorable mention in the abstract division. "Light Project" In August and September I was in an invitational show at the Quinlan Art Center in Gainesville Ga. Organized a fine art photography show at the Sautee Nachoochee Community Center in September and October. Did Two push pin shows for the North Georgia Photography Experience in October. Was in a juried photography show at the Bowen Art Center also in October and won first place in the color division. "Diamond T". I won first place over all last year at the same show. "Transformers" I am in the Holiday shows at the Bowen Art Center and the Sautee Art Center until January. My goal this year is to expand to Atlanta. This year has been a tough year for artists and galleries alike. Art is very important to our culture and needs to be seen and supported. Many excellent artists have seen their sales diminish, some will have to stop producing unless sales pickup. Some people look at art and say it's too expensive but good quality and thoughtful art is expensive to produce, and the gallery fees are 30 to 50%. High quality art will outlast your new car, furniture or your new TV. It is an investment you can enjoy for generations. Please support your local artist. It went from full sun, mostly cloudy and back. My thoughts were on the Blue Ridge Parkway at sunset. We attended a reception for the artists at 5:00 did not leave until 7:00 pm. Drove straight to the parkway, watching the clouds grow thicker. On the parkway I was checking every overlook anticipating the perfect spot. I was worried I would be still looking and miss the shot, or have to turn around. We made it in plenty of time to a south facing overlook with 200 degree clear view. There the cloud gods presented one of the most scenic sunsets I have seen with my camera and tripod in hand. All I can say is perfect This is my first of many entries to come
